I love moths and hunt them. This paining was created from a photo I took at Wilderness State Park in the UP Michigan. We were camping there and I saw TWO Polyphemus moths on the bath house. I was in love!

INDIGO SERIES:I love money plant. They are beautiful in the spring with their purple and white blossoms but in the fall they are best. The silky paper transparent seed pods are so pleasing. I love how they stick out in the late fall or winter landscape as this one does.
I am crazy for mushrooms and when I find one of these in the woods it's a great day.

INDIGO SERIES: I have been fascinated with the ring around the moon that appears in cooler temps. It's so beautiful and perfect. I painted this after we had an ice storm and the tree branches shimmered.
INDIGO SERIES: This painting describes the muffled lack of sound and magical feeing of a landscape after a heavy snow. In addition I am always overjoyed to see snow caps on weeds- so I added them in. I love the humor they express. Jan. 2021

Winterberries dazzle me. The red berries pop on the grays of November and December and are a joy.
I saw the dolls eye plant in the Crockery Creek Nature Area and the Horsetails in the Sleeping Bear. I puttees two rare ones together in this painting
I think cabbages are exotic, grand and beautiful. I hope I express that with this nocturnal painting.
Early spring is my favorite. I love the moment the morels are coming up. The willows are acid green and the exotic skunk cabbages emerge from the muck. Isn't it incredible?
